Printing Whistles
Model
Our preferred model is this compact bitonal whistle by ACstudio on Makersworld due to their suitability for dense plate packing and their low per-unit filament cost.
A 1kg spool of PLA can yield just over 500 whistles when this model is printed with the same color filament. With 0.3mm spacing it is possible to print 138 whistles at once on a Creality K2 plate.
Recommend settings for speed
If using a 0.4mm nozzle (standard on most 3D printers) the greatest time saving will be gained by using 0.28mm high layers vs the default 0.2mm. This reduces the number of layers required and the associated print head travel time. The same 138 whistle Creality K2 plate that takes 11h46m with 0.2mm layers prints in 9h36m with 0.4mm.
